Movie Review: Sixth Sense(1999)

I see dead people...
Night Shamalan's directorial debut took off with a bang. Unlike any other mystery, Sixth Sense is an exercise in lateral thinking. This is the plot:A shrink(Bruce Willis) treats a child(Haley Joel Osment) who claims he sees dead people. Unfortunately for Night, there is no topping this movie. People will always use this masterpiece as a yardstick to measure his future contributions.One need not be a genius to see Haley Joel Osment is(was?) a precarious child and a gift actor. His delivery of the line "I see dead people." is one of the most memorable moments in film by a child prodigy. It is up there with Macaulay Culkin's agast expression in 'Home Alone.'
