Movie Review: Cellular(2004)

A hidden gem..
Cellular is one of the most overlooked movies of last year. It has all the intensity of Speed, minus the gore. A kidnapped housewife must do all she can to save her husband and her son. By sheer accident, she manages to contact a young college student who she must persuade to help her. Kim Basinger is awesome as a desperate kidnapped homemaker trying to get in touch with anyone who can help her save her family. Chris Evans is a likable young student who tries to save her. He may well be the next Tom Cruise! Jason Statham gives a powerful performance as a ruthless criminal. William H.Macy also gives a stellar performance. The movie is fast paced and is a non-stop roller coaster from start to finish. David Ellis deserves a lot of credit for putting this one together.Buy or rent this one.
