This morning a big crowd gathered near South Station and part of Atlantic Ave was blocked. Though I did not get to see any celebrities, I heard from one of the passersby that they were filming Mel Gibson's Edge of Darkness.

Duty called, and I had to leave in a hurry.

Movie: Ransom (1996)

Director Ron Howard teams up with Mel Gibson to produce this A-grade thriller. Mel Gibson plays a tormented, desperate Millionaire father, bearing with the realization that a ruthless criminal kidnaped his son.

When the kidnapper(Gary Sinese) asks for a ransom, the father goes on TV placing a higher price on the kidnapper’s head and simply refusing to bow down to the latter’s demands. Neither his wife’s gut-wrenching pleas nor the advice of a lawman will shake his resolve.

Many think the father is nuts but he still sticks to his guns and finally uses the kidnapper’s brazen greed against him. I would go as far as to call it a feel good movie. It simply felt great seeing the ‘strong good’ guy prevail. The cast includes Renne Russo and Delroy Lindo.

My favorite part in the movie is when Gibson asks Sinese if his 'associates' would remain loyal to him,Sinese when the there is a price of 5 million on his head.Watch this one!
