An NBC Special tries to unravel fact and fiction in the Bestseller, the Da Vinci Code.
- The Book postulates that Christ was married to Mary Magdeline.
- The Holy grail, according to the book was not the cup but Mary Magdeline
- Fact: Leonardo offers the key to the secret of Mary Magedline in the 'Last Supper'.
- Fact: Mary Magdeline was according to one of the Gospels, one of the foremost Apostles of Christ according to the head of the Harvard School of Divinity.
- Fact:There is no mention of her as a prostitute in any of the Gospels. It was postulated by Pope Gregory the great, who confused her with another woman in the book of Luke.
- According to the book, the feminine-looking Apostle, seated beside Christ in the Last Supper, is Mary Magdeline.
- According to one scholar, Magdeline was ill or troubled and became a follower after Jesus cured her.

- Scholarly opion is mixed on Jesus' maritial status. It was common for Jewish men to marry. Nowhere in the Gospels is mentioned his status? Only a silence.
- According to the book, the truth,shrouded in this silence of his marriage would threaten the church.
- Some of his followers according to the book landed In a village on the Mediterranean coast of France, with the 'Holy Grail'. With them is Sarah, the daughter of Jesus and Magdeline.
- There is no cup seen in the 'Last Supper'. This according to the book is a clue.
- The book talks of a secret society called the Priori of Scion.
- The book alleges that the P of S is mentioned in a set of secret documents in the Louvre. This allegation is true. Infact the documents say that some Kings and Queens of Fance were decendants of Jesus.
- There is infact a list of people including Da Vinci in the P of S. Could they hold the key to find the heirs of Jesus?
- A non fiction book published in 1982 does mention the Prori of Scion. It started with a poor priest in the South of France suddenly becoming weathy. Legend had it that it was because the priest stumbled on some confidential documents.
- One man interviewed for the book claimed that not only did the P of S exist, but he was a member.
- According to one scholar this guy manufactured those theories and planted the list in the Museum.
- One person claimed that one could find several letters of the alphabet in the painting if one looked for them. They meant nothing.
