Movie: Death and the Maiden (1994)

A powerful script by playwright Ariel Dorfman, the brilliance of director Roman Polanski and a top class star cast. This film was destined to be a winner.
A government official(Stuart Wilson) and his wife(Sigourney Weaver) live on the seafront in an unnamed South American country. One day, on his way back to work, the official has a flat tire and is helped by a good Samatarian(Ben Kingsley).He invites the gentleman home.

Hearing the stranger's voice in her home even before she has seen his face, brings back nightmares from the past for the official's wife. As a prisonerof war, she was blindfolded and repeatedly raped in prison by a man. This man, she is convinced is this seemingly kind gentleman who is now a guest in her home.
This movie is a top-notch thriller.
