A different kind of Supply Chain

In his last Supply Chain lecture, Prof. Simchi-Levi came to a mid-sentence halt. "What the hell is this?" he remarked. He had caught sight of a paperback edition of his own book on the front row. As he picked it up, he realized that this edition had been printed in India and was on sale in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The hardbound edition of the book costs about $80. The paperback edition, available in cyberspace costs between $25 and $30.
As the class burst into laughter, one of the students asked if the paperback one was legal.
"I guess so," Simchi-Levi sneered. "But, I'm not happy."

Looks like he had uncovered a hidden "Supply Chain". Something tells me he is not going to optimize this one.
